Tallynus [ACCEPTED]

Postby Tallynus » Sun Dec 31, 2017 1:02 am

1. How old are you, and where are you from (include your timezone)?
24 from Germany, so EUTZ GMT +1

2. Why do you want to join the Tuskers? How did you hear about us?
I really like the respectful approch from tuskers towards solo and small Gang pvp. I first saw and fought them when I joined FW on the Caldari side at the start of my EvE career. Later mostly through the Alliance Tournament.

3. What's been your EVE experience to date? In particular, what were your last few corporations/alliances; why did you join and leave them? Are there any other games that you play?

My last corp is Sl1de former DRONV. The best corp you can wish for socialy and I would still want to be part of them. Now after months of war and great fun in destroying FCON, hopefully for good, they are leaving TRI. I decided to get back to a smaller approche of pvp without sov warfare.

I started in EvE with a group of friends which were a few months ahead of me, so they dragged me from the tutorial directly into 0.0. Thats why Highsec is the scariest place for me. From there we went from Provi to the old NC and there I also had my first major fights when the old NC went down. From there I went my own way and looked into exploring new party of the game for me and so I ended up in FW. That was probably the time I grew the most as a pilot skill wise, learning to pvp one frig hull at a time. After that goons for a short ammount some time, mostly afk living and roaming in Venal. This killed the fun in EvE for me and I left for years.
Last year I started again and directly joining Test and then DRONV and enjoyed every second sofar.
Thats why my highlights are all from the last year or I just dont remember them good enough from before.

1. The capturing of the South with Test was really fun and I started FC'ing. I did caught a Goon mach fleet and a Soviet Rattlesnake fleet in the first days of the Invasion in my HIC. Anticipating where they would go and being the inital cyno when you finally catch them is a great source of pvp shakes, even if you die in the first 30seconds.

https://zkillboard.com/kill/59096866/

2. I FC'ed the Test fleet on the Auga keepstar kill.
https://zkillboard.com/kill/62977798/

3. Being part fo the Test AT team and making Top 16 was great. Most rememberal the fight vs Bastion holding in deep armor and heat micomanaging under armageddon neuts. https://youtu.be/h6UO2bnGO14?t=141

In fleets I am more of the support player, mostly dualboxing Links or Reacons with sometimes mixed Logi/Dictor in there. Lately only Links, because thats whats always missing.

I play the new POE season atm, but also play LoL, Hearthstone regulary. Also all kinds of strategy game with my favourites EU4, Stellaris, Total War: Warhammer.

4. Please confirm that you've read The Tusker Code and will abide by it.
yes

5. To prove you've got what it takes to be a solo PVPer, please link five solo kills outside of high security space including two kills against a more powerful ship class than your own (for example frig vs cruiser, or t1 frig vs t2/faction frig). Fights where you took on multiple ships of your own class (e.g. cruiser vs 2x cruiser) and came away with multiple kills also count. This isn't as hard as it sounds - if you'd like advice drop by The Tuskers Public Channel in game and we'll help you out. Video evidence (i.e. fraps) is also nice to see.
Since I mostly flew fleets the last few months and I went out from Jita the last week to create some more recent Solo kills. So they might not be that impressive.

1. Comet vs bling garmur. He warped into my plex and I caught him overheating scram/mwd before he could get off his second mwd cycle.
https://zkillboard.com/kill/66906906/

2. Magus vs Thorax. He wapred to 100 on a plex gate, I got a good mjd off. I dont know the second person, must have happend before.
https://zkillboard.com/kill/66887768/

3.Brutix vs Gate Camp
https://zkillboard.com/related/30001388/201712252300/

4.Brutix vs Small Gang. They reshiped a few times. The Stilleto tackeled me the the whole time unable to break it inside a plex or deaggress. The came with ashimmu/Tornado,then 2 ONI to try to overwhelm me with RLML burst. I died when I run out of cap boosters. 15min later, 80k dmg tanked and 800km from the plex entrance. Teached me to have some warp corestabs/mjd and a mobile depot in cargo to escape permament Intie tackle.

https://zkillboard.com/kill/66848092/

5.Pophecy vs Sacrelige. I did sit in a drone event side and named my ship "LvL 3 Missions", when I was sure he saw me I wapred to the gate at 10 to look like autopilot, because if it is a decent fit Sac, I wouldnt be able to break him with my dos and no neuts. So I needed help from gate guns. He took the bait.

(6.)I did fly from time to time solo BS and dualboxing Intie/Boosher for tackle, so kinda solo? because otherwise you dont catch anything.

6. Tuskers use Mumble to verbally communicate during gangs as well as socially. Can you confirm you are willing to install Mumble and own functioning headphones and a microphone?
yes

7. The Tuskers is a corporation for mains. We're OK with you having alts in other corporations for the purposes of making ISK, but not for PvP. Please confirm that the character you're applying with is your main, and let us know about any alts you have in other corporations.

My Main Tallynus https://zkillboard.com/character/1351482946/
Alt Haida Altol https://zkillboard.com/character/90848362/
Another one I dont want to publicly announce but will send API for.

8. Provide your API keys via this Google Form.

send

9. You need to have vouches from at least 2 active Tuskers. This is simply to maximize the chances of you finding the corporation a good fit and vice-versa. It's fine if you don't have these vouches before you apply - move into our wormhole (free ships are provided) or other active systems, fight against us, with us, join our public roams or jump on our comms and the vouches will take care of themselves quickly. As many Tuskers base out of our wormhole, we can give you access to the wormhole and provide you free ships until you acquire these vouches.

I hope getting them flying with you

10. What experiences (if any) have you had in a wormhole and would you be interested in moving into one with a constant null sec & wormhole exit?

I used Wormholes and scanned chains for content before, but never lived in one. I would be intrested in moving in.

Hey Tallynus, thanks for the app. Two questions from me,

Can you please describe in more detail how you contributed to the TEST AT team.

Most of your best memories are in large scale fights. How do you see this working when the largest gangs we can field have about 15 people on grid, with even that being a stretch?

Most of the recruitment team is taking time off, so expect slow responses for the next week or so.

I just flew the ships, while focusing on cruiser hulls. SInce it was my first AT and Tournament meta is something totally diffrent I only gave feedback to the hulls I flew in training. Fcing and comp crafting I was not involed in.

The only think I can think of I take from these battles onto small scale is for once a deep understanding of 0.0 mechanics and combat probing. Otherwise there is no real comparison. I flew some gang fleets from time to time but no main focus on them. So they just didnt leave the "best" memories.

Why do you think smaller groups are more enjoyable, pvpwise?

On a scale of 0 to German, how grumpy would you rate yourself?

Please come up with a nullsec roaming five man gang including one battleship and explain your reasoning.

You mentioned you liked flying support a lot, what sort of support do you see as valuable in micro / small gang fights? (3-6 man) Can you list some situations / fleet compositions where bringing support is more important than bringing another DPS / anti-tackle ship?

What's the best way of bringing links to a small gang, in your opinion? Can you give us a fit, explain how it's used, and what sort of role(s) it covers?

Each induvidual has to contribute a bigger share and this way it is way more rewarding achieving something.

One standard german or 2,7 Trump supporter in freedom units.

Please come up with a nullsec roaming five man gang including one battleship and explain your reasoning.
Machariel- Agile and warpspeedbonus, versitile and good range even with autos. Main DPS source
Orthrus- Anti Tackle role and screening with long range scram
Stilleto- Scout and inital tackle. Provides warpins and holds enemies on grid
Loki- Shield Logi with a single Link. Force multiplier that holf grid, even against long range DPS on field.
Hurrican Fleet - Another longrange DPS source witch also contributes Links

You mentioned you liked flying support a lot, what sort of support do you see as valuable in micro / small gang fights? (3-6 man) Can you list some situations / fleet compositions where bringing support is more important than bringing another DPS / anti-tackle ship?
My favourite ship is the Huginn, but being small on numbers a ship witch only fullfiles one role is not that important and would opt out towards a Loki which still can provide relative long webs and DPS. Other great support ships would be any kind of single Logi ship. Or a single ship that can make key feature ships of the enemy, like Reacons, useless. For that I would bring a Keres. When the enemie has a Huginn or Lachesis a Keres would be more uselful than an DPS ship, since it makes the space you have to applie damage way greater. Reducing the web range of a Huginn from 90+ to 25km.

What's the best way of bringing links to a small gang, in your opinion? Can you give us a fit, explain how it's used, and what sort of role(s) it covers?
Logi Loki, provides one Link and great source of repping power. Should stay behind dps ships and not in range of the enemie keeping transversal up. Has self rep for small sources of incoming damage wich isnt mitigated by range and transversal.

I flew with him in the AT and got the impression that he is a pretty good pilot, did well in vigiliant and other Cruiser/T3D hulls, in matches and scrims aswell.

You will get my vouch once you get into chaos and we have a first roam together!

How would you execute that comp vs a 30 man typical null kitchen sink? (mostly frigs/cruisers, corms etc etc)

Sound replies so far, good. I think having you in Chaos, our wormhole, will be the best way to showcase your skills live. Hop into our publcic channel and ask any Tusker to help you get into j-space.

30 are alot, and 30 corms can apply really well to 70km. So stay out of 70km range, around 100km and kill what comes to tackle you but dont engage yourself. Keep the Mach around 80km or let him dip into range from time to time and bait rep him so they are kept intrested.

i've flown with tallynus a few times now - he's good on comms and willing to put a lot of work in (and sacrifice himself for the good of the fleet). Vouch.
